Teit sitten tuollaisen säläräjähdyksen

Niin, eihän se pyykkipoikakaan tyrehdyttänyt pitsitulvaa vaan aloitin vielä perään Riihimäen tapaamisessa väsäämään nappirasiaa teippirullan hylsystä. Se jäi aika pahasti kesken ja inspiraatio oli loppua kesken joten sain sen lopulta valmiiksi vasta muutama päivä sitten. Mies totesi nähtyään kannen melkein valmiina: "Teit sitten tuollaisen säläräjähdyksen.". Kertonee kaiken.

Rakastan tuota Beautiful -nauhaa josta käytin viimeiset pätkät tähän projektiin. Eräs skräppääjä lähetti sitä minulle rullallisen Amerikasta kun aloittelin askartelua ja olen säästänyt viimeisiä rippeitä vähän turhankin pitkään.

 

Omnomnom

Ystäväni täytti 32 vuotta ja järjesti bileet aika lyhyellä varoitusajalla. Kuten olen aiemminkin valittanut, miehille on aivan mahdotonta keksiä lahjoja ja vilkaisu rahapussiin asetti vielä omat haasteensa. Hetken kaivelu internetin ihmemaassa ja toinen hetki lankapusseissa johti pieneen virkattuun Pinky-pehmoon. 

Käytin Ms Premise-Conclusionin ohjetta sen verran soveltaen, että lisäsin silmät neulahuovuttamalla virkkaamisen sijaan. Lanka oli joku muinainen Novitan puuvilla-viskoosisekoite jonka vyöte on kadonnut vuosien saatossa. Käytin 2,5 mm koukkua.

Taittelin rasian pohjan mustasta kartongista ja vähän matalamman kannen DCWV:n kuviopaperista. Kävin sivut läpi mustalla Distress Inkillä ja lisäsin Pacmanille pisteitä syötäväksi Sakuran valkoisella Shouffle -kynällä. Nimensä mukaisesti kynän jälki kohoaa hieman paperin pinnasta kuivuttuaan. Pidän efektistä ja Gelly Rollia hieman peittävämmästä jäljestä ja olen aivan koukussa kynään. Ainoa huono puoli on, että muste aluksi kirkasta joten sen näkeminen kirjoittaessa on joillakin papereilla vähän hankalaa.

Rusettiin kiinnitetty Pacman -kännykoru ja pienet haamut on leikattu mustasta kutistemuovista ja väritetty puuväreillä. En ajatellut aivan loppuun saakka yhdistelmää ja päädyin lopulta lakkaamaan väritetyt puolet.

Kirjaimet on stanssattu Tim Holtz Alteration Vintage Market Decorative Strip -stanssilla ja kiinnitetty 3D-tarrapaloilla.

Kaikenlaista lahjontaa

Minulta tilattiin lahjaksi turkoosi korusetti ja siihen sopiva kortti. Päädyin käyttämään koruissa turkoosia marmoria, lasihelmiä, villipitsiakaatteja ja enimmäkseen hopeoituja metalliosia. Pujottelin kaula- ja rannekorut vaijeriin ja väsäsin sitten vielä ylijääneistä helmistä ketjun kanssa pidemmän kaulakorun mukaan settiin.

Kortiksi tein kirjakortin jonka sisälle korut sai sujauttaa. Sain vihdoin käytettyä Sizzixin Mini cage & bird -stanssejani jotka ovat lojuneet laatikossa jo jonkun aikaa odottamassa inspiraatiota. Paperi on Tim Holtzin Lost & Found -lehtiöstä.

Oma kummipoikani ei saanut ihan yhtä huolella tehtyjä lahjoja. Kummitädille tuli ehkä mahdollisesti vähän kiire kortin kanssa ja kylään mentiin lopulta näin simppelin tuotoksen kanssa:

Minulta pyydettiin lahjaksi hihattomia paitoja ja näin loppukesästä ne alkoivat olla joka puolelta loppu. Löysin enää yksivärisiä ja päädyin sitten tuunailemaan yhtä ihan pikkuriikkisen VersaCraftien ja Inkadinkadon ja Fiskarsin leimasinten kanssa. Lopputulos oli kuulemma mieluisa. Olin tosin jo ennen kommenttia polleana sillä jotain tädin pitää olla tehnyt oikein aiempien lahjojen kanssa kun 13-vuotias muotitietoinen poika uskaltaa vielä pyytää vaatteita eikä vain rahaa niitä varten.

Fragile Whisper

I've been listening to Suvi Teräsniska a lot lately, mainly to learn her songs. Her song Hento kuiskaus (Fragile Whisper) was playing in my head yesterday when I made this fairy card.


The paper and pictures and borders are all from G45 Once Upon a Springtime stack. I love most of the papers from the collection. I stamped some whirls on the paper with Tattered Rose Distress Ink before I adhered the pictures. I made the flowers with Magnolia Peony Petals -die and Artemio flower punch. Rose leaves are made with Nellie Snellen punch. I love the little Love-tag behind roses and I already regret I didn't order more than one package of those word embellishments from Klemmarikellari.

Another Valentines card that I made after this one was again a bit darker one. I used papers from Bo Bunny Crush stack and framed them with black cardstock. The heart is made with Tattered Angel Glimmer Screen and Barn Door red Distress Ink.


Last a project I've forgotten to post. Koukussa Kortteihin -challenge was to create a baby card. I couldn't come up with anything at first but then I found a pattern for a little baby shoe and made a card to go with it. Quite cute, aren't they?

I'm late!

Unfortunately I got this lantern ready so late that I needed to run out so I didn't get the chance to blog it for last weeks P*skarteluhaaste which was all about plaids. I'm not satisfied with this, I was just in too much of a hurry. But it's got green and red plaids and a Christmas Fairy by Sketching Stamper.

Yesterdays Creations

Koukussa Kortteihin had a Christmas challenge to create a matching card and some kind of package. I decorated an empty chocolate box and made a tag to go with it. First I was thinking of silver and white but at some point it turned quite blue.

Step one was to cover the whole box with thick office paper. Regular 80g/m^3 was a bit too see-trough so I used 120g/m^3. Next I sponged the whole thing with Weathered Wood Distress Ink.

I had a bit too much fun with the flowers. First I cut acrylic flowers with Sizzix Tattered Florals die. Then I ran them trough Big Shot again with embossing plate and cut the ends of bigger ones petals with X-cut edge punch. Next I rubbed some silver acrylic paint with my finger to the bigger piece and stamped smaller ones with the same paint. I was using Game Color paint in Chainmail Silver.

Again using the same die I cut two layers of vellum and added some dotting on petal tips with silver gel pen. I snipped petals on the acrylic layers a bit deeper before folding them and putting flowers together with Glossy Accent.

I'm a bit dissapointed that I didn't buy more of those metal stars used all over this project. I only got one or two left after using them here as flower centers, snowflakes and pendant. I also need to buy more clear gems.

"H" and "J" pins marking Hyvää Joulua (Merry Christmas) are made following a tutorial I saw a while ago for Tim Holz memo pins. I just can't remember where it was. Anyways, I didn't have memo pins so I just made some myself of metal wire. I stamped letters on white cardstock, embossed them with a mixture of black and silver embossing powder and punched them out. Then I put the pins on the circles and filled them with Glossy Accent.

I printed the picture and text out on Canson Illustration. Picture can be found here. I cropped it a bit and put it trough blue Photoshop filter before printing.


Inside is a pocket for tag. I used Marianne Design die for all swirls in this project. I cut them of silver cardstock and used the same cardstock as a base for tag.

Tag has same kind of flower than the box. I added some white feathers because text speaks about touch of an angel wing. A few ribbons, some baby blue fiber and a Fiskars border stamp finished the tag.


And then something completely different: some Fimo cupcake charms. I thought I'd add these as little surprises to friends Christmas presents.

Hiding the Munchies

I had boring the other night so I decided to make color labels to all my distress inks. After that I did the same for my ProMarkers. While doing that I had emptied a box of Dominos (our Oreos) and that empty box was disturbing me on livingroom table. I had to hide evidence of munchies:

Tea Light Cards

There's been a huge fuss over different kinds of tea light cards lately. I didn't get too exited over the first model I saw but the second one took my breath away. First I decided I'd do some for christmas but I just HAD to try some already and I didn't have any fun christmas materials. Thus my godmothers get a bit different Thank you -cards than rest of our wedding guests.

I used Sizzix Bigz -die Flowers, Daisies to create the white flower and distressed them a bit with Antique Linen Distress Ink like the rest of the card. Then I made some swirls with Sizzix Sizzlits -dies. Patterned papers are from Me & My Big Ideas A Beautiful Life -stack and that beautiful ribbon was sent by Stephanie. Thank you again for it!

Pictures were taken while the boxes were still empty. I added some green tea light candles in them later.
